Wow Maggie, that’s amazing – I’ve never heard of this story before. My grandmother had a vision of heaven a few days before she died. Her testimony has always been such an encouragement to me as my grandfather typed up all that she said during those final days. We can live with joyful anticipation of what it will be like to be there and to see Jesus face to face!
I am very interested in reading this book. I have had an experience that make me open to reading about near death and back from coma stories. I fainted and was out so much that I had some beautiful muscial experince. I remember that I heard wonderful music and could not figure out what kind of instrument it was coming from. Visually, I saw complete whiteness and then felt like I was heading through a tunnel towards a bright light. Also heard my brother (passed away a logn time ago) calling me. I remember I was very happy and then got mad at my husband for slapping me awake. Even since then, I don’t have any fear of death.
Sherry, I am so very, very sorry at the loss of your son. Yes, I think this book would encourage you greatly. Any Christian bookstore should carry it and places like Borders orBarnes and Noble should as well since it’s been on the best seller list. Amazon also has it for half price right now, and here’s the link: http://www.amazon.com/Boy-Who-Came-Back-Heaven/dp/1414336063/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1289832544&sr=1-1.
Blessings,
Maggie
So glad you highlighted this story, Maggie, and encourage us to believe. God really is supernatural and does supernatural things in this present day, not only in the past, right here, not far away. Why am I surprised?
Visions Beyond the Veil by H.A. Baker tells another amazing story of children who visited heaven. But Alex’s smile and testimony are unique and his alone.
Wow. This sounds very interesting. As I have gotten older and more people I love are Home in Glory, I often have wondered what Heaven is like.
I know that we have some details in the Bible, but I have pictured myself walking up to Biblical people there and thanking them for their testimony.
The Hall of Faith in Hebrews, as well as other mighty people throughout history have left us many examples of how to live (and not live.)
What a wonderful day it will be when we are all Home together. Maybe some of the things that I think will matter won’t. Perhaps our time will be spent completely awe struck as we are in the Lord’s presence. Oh, what a day that will be.
Thanks for all of your encouragement, Marji. I love you. 🙂 Kathy
I would love to win this book and share with my ladies class at church and family. We have read the book 90 Minutes in Heaven and it was so real to me. We had just finished reading about Heaven in Revelation and hearing from a man who was standing at the gates of Heaven with his grandfather there to greet him, changed my very thought on what heaven will be like. It would be great to hear from a child’s point of view. Children are very perceptive and they see clearly when adults often can’t.
Saw/heard an interview with the father on a website, and it made me really want to read the book. Cannot afford it, so would really like to win it. If not, maybe I can find it in a library?
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book. Curiosity alone at what he saw is the driving force to read this book. I think everyone would want a glimpse of heaven. I look forward to reading it.
We’re studying the Gospel of John and the miracles Jesus performed to heal the sick and save sinners to show the power of God on earth…..and some believed. Now a modern day miracle occurs to show us God is still at work in the world and praise God, some will believe.
Oh how awesome it must have been for that mother to have had a second chance to be on this earth with her after the terrible accident and then to also have the glimpse of what heaven would be like. I think that this book should be so uplifting to read. What an impact this experience must have had on this family’s life. It is wonderfull that they have chose to share it and be messengers of Christ. I look forward to reading this book. I had not heard of it before now but am glad that you shared this with us.
